Why are photos missing Timestamp or GPS metadata?
Your photos may be missing timestamp or GPS coordinates for several reasons. One of the most common causes is sharing images through chat or social media apps, which often remove metadata to protect privacy. Additionally, if your camera or phone settings don’t have location services enabled, the GPS data won’t be recorded. In some cases, older devices or certain apps may not store metadata by default. Always check your device settings to ensure metadata is being saved.
For construction, having accurate timestamp and GPS data embedded in photos is essential for tracking progress, managing projects, and maintaining clear records. Timestamped photos provide a reliable timeline of work, while GPS coordinates ensure that location-specific tasks are accurately documented. This metadata can help teams verify work completion and avoid disputes.
